NITTIHAUS is an interdisciplinary industrial design firm focused on bespoke architecture and immersive experiences. We bring creative vision to life through advanced design methodologies, state-of-the-art fabrication, and smart materials, achieving a balance between artistry and technical expertise. Founded by Nicholas Crylen, NITTIHAUS offers full-cycle design services—from 3d design, technical drafting, 3d modeling, 3d rendering to fabrication & production through to branding and installation — serving clients in multiple industries across the U.S., primarily West Coast. Structural design & build experience in Commercial, Residential, Institutional, Event & Brand Activations.
At NITTIHAUS our core goals are to enable humans to survive, thrive and recreate using innovative approaches that pull from a wide range of multiple disciplines. We are extremely knowledgeable of true sustainability processes, material properties, manufacturing processes, conscience design practices and a pure human/user centered side of design. We also have extensive experience in tensile membrane structures, open span structures, lightweight shell structures and parametric design. We are big believers of following proper processes and methodologies while being hands on in the field and doing what it takes to get projects done.

Our team of designers, architects, and engineers have all attended masters level academic programs in the tensile membrane industry at an international scale. An Archineer® in Membrane Structures title was given, through Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) while in cooperation with IMS Bauhaus (Institute for Membrane Structures) At the site of the original Bauhaus school, this was a unique international postgraduate course in the fields of membrane construction, textile, tensile and cushion structures, lightweight membranes and architectural fabrics.
