NITTIHAUS is a unique all-encompassing design studio that takes visions and turns them into reality.  Services offered include design, concept, render, drafting, prototype, develop, fabricate, build and brand.  Whether it’s taking an idea in the conceptual stage, sourcing it through to production, packaging it, marketing or advertising the product we do it all.  Or maybe an off-grid cabin retreat and sustainable site plan for your rural get away property.  Conceptual renderings, site-planning, CAD drawings range from production level technical drawings accurate to the hundredth of a millimeter to 100 acre Site Plans, full sheet set construction plans and development logistics for tiny homes, cabins or multi-structure properties.  We have experience in commercial-recreational, rural residential and residential zoned sites.  We also do event design & build, trade show booths, retail displays and more just ask.   

 At NITTIHAUS our core goals are to enable humans to survive, thrive and recreate using innovative approaches that pull from a wide range of multiple disciplines.  We are extremely knowledgeable of true sustainability processes, material properties, conscience design practices and a pure human/user centered side of design. We are big believers of following proper processes and methodologies while being hands on in the field and doing what it takes to get projects done.  At NITTIHAUS we pride ourselves on being able to offer services at any stage in the life cycle or process of your project.  We strive to take on all projects with the utmost efficiency, creativity, honesty all while staying within budget and rising above and beyond expectations.  We enjoy working both ends of the development spectrum whether it’s in millimeters, feet or acres. No job is too small or too big. We have two offices, Southern California - Laguna Beach & Northern California - Shasta. Our projects can be seen across the entire West Coast of the United States. We also have completed projects in Victoria, Australia.

 NITTIHAUS’ – Founder & Chief Designer Nicholas Crylen has had a career in museum, studio, corporate, off-grid and contractual design.  Mr. Crylen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.  With roots in the Midwest and growing up in southern California Nick truly understands the term ‘design & build’.  He brings the design process, proven methodologies and a sustainable approach to all his projects.  While attending college in the mid-west, Nick refined his work ethic and craftsmen-ship in Milwaukee, WI known as the “machine shop of America”.  With an eye for accurate lines, phenomenal sense of aesthetics, an understanding for what makes “good design” & how functionality plays into the overall design while maintaining close transparency in the process with customers.  Nittihaus thrives off solving complex problems with elegant solutions. Nick is currently obtaining his Masters of Engineering degree in Tensile Membrane Structures at Anhalt University in Dessau, Germany, the location of the famed design school Bauhaus.
